Now for the last segment of my "husmorferie"...as my Norwegian friend, Nina a.k.a. Rapunsel, calls it. And "husmorferie"...a 'housewife vacation'...is the perfect phrase! I love it! You Norwegians have got it goin' on...I'm tellin' ya! I do believe we'll be taking more of these "husmorferies" in the future, too!! : D
As we drove out of the quaint historic square of Amherst, we passed this little house. Of course I had to stop! No way could I pass this up...
Just that little scene in this cute postage stamp of a front lawn inspired me with a few of my own ideas. I'll show you what I've done with my front stoop over the past weekend in my next blog!
Once we left Amherst town square, we came upon the adorable dollhouse shop I've been telling you about...
This place looks small from the outside...but boy does it ever wander around once you're inside! They've also expanded their shop since we last visited a couple of years ago. We could spend hours in here...literally! And the girls were gathering all sorts of ideas for their dollhouse that we haven't started on yet. Soon, girls, very soon! I promise! : D
Oh and for you boys, they had a miniature train set for the dollhouse that could actually be turned on and go on its teensy track! Plus a workshop all set up with benches and tools! Too cool!
I'm fascinated with these little light fixtures! And so is our son whose also enthralled with everything electric! He's ready to wire the new dollhouse! Sounds like a plan...
We're also still gathering up ideas for the facade...porches, shutters, and paint schemes....oh the details are endless, aren't they! Especially when we have to get consensus among 3 females...OK, you're right...four females! ; )
As we were leaving, some good folks offered to take our group photo in the courtyard full of blooms...a great ending to a great get-away...or "husmorferie!" Don't you think so?? And it's been such fun sharing it all with you!! xxx
