Aren't these colors so soft and dreamy..?? Mmmm! I wish the roses were real, too! I'm going to have to do something about that...my lack of flowers in the house, that is! So I've been awash in soft lately...sweetly soft wash cloths...
When our neighbor, Maurice, was over here a week or so ago, he mentioned how he had a couple of these dishcloths that he used all the time...and how sturdy they were...and how much he REALLY liked them. But now, he said, they were getting very worn out and he didn't know anyone who knew how to make them. Well, guess who just swooped in to the rescue! He picked out his colors and I whipped out the one above and below in a couple of days...of course the big smile on his face when the kids delivered them to his doorstep made it all the more delightful! : )
These wash cloths are so quick and easy to make...and the sizes can be adjusted very simply! It's the same pattern as the eyelet-edged blanket pattern...only I started decreasing at row 55 (as opposed to 180 for the blanket...which that one could be sized smaller, too, if desired). And oh my goodness, these colors! It's almost like knitting for babies again!! How I miss those days...and I didn't even know how to knit then!
My friend, Heather, who I only recently taught to knit...just finished her first wash cloth lickety-split! Nothing like a little instant gratification!! : D
