The Climbing Tree has become the favorite hang-out for lots of little monkeys...and a few big ones, too! What do kiddos do when the grown-ups are busy thrashing grass and brush or toting logs up into the air?
Here are a few of the things our children have been occupying themselves with over the past few days. Other than the fact that we're reveling in the continuous days of sunshine without a drop of rain in sight--scrap pieces of wood, a craft box retrieved from a yard sale, and the adventure of camping in the tent have kept everyone in some form of anticipation and lack of boredom.
The white dot you see up in the tree is indeed one of the monkeys. I don't blame you if you prefer not to look. That's pretty much what I've chosen to do...or not do!
Of course, no tree climbing adventure is complete unless Grandmom comes up for a climb, too!
Little tinkling bells from the craft box...what can one do with tiny tinkling bells? Way more things than I ever thought possible!
A new favorite doll...lovely, isn't she? She even has a chin...
And now for building their houses...naturally, each person needs a house...
And no house is complete without a phone...
Talkin' on the phone...
and another phone...
And this is supposed to be the garden...
I had to wonder why she would think tall grass makes such a realistic garden...?? Perhaps it looks somehow similar to Mommy's garden...???
Now they're going 'visiting'...
Friends of ours gave us beans fresh from their garden...so it's time for snappin' beans...
As well as glorious picnicking all day long!
Then came the highly anticipated, hugely enthralling raising of the camping tent...
We dredged up our tent from the catacombs of the storage unit and I prayed that I could get through what should be a really simple but usually never is--assembly of a tent.
But we got 'r done (as they say in Maine) and had a great little bonfire with friends that evening alongside a gorgeous sunset and lots of roasted marshmallows!
