After days and days of rain...including shower after shower yesterday...we're blessed with glorious sunshine this morning and cloud brushed skies! Now if it will only hold...even for just a day!
Our garden is hanging in there despite the super-soggy weather. I've been asked if we had any photos of our tiny garden, so here are a couple. Please ignore the weeds...as I have been! Our 10 x 10 ft. raised bed has been divided into 4 quadrants for each of the kiddos to plant and tend. I've not been able to get the warm weather seedlings...that are now plants...into the ground yet. I'll be able to hopefully clear a spot in another raised bed for those today or sometime this week.
We had big plans for a big garden this year, but with everything else...like trying to build our own log home while also making a living...and taking on chickens and turkeys...this is the extent of our gardening so far. Likewise, since gardens are basically drowning or getting demolished by bugs this spring and early summer, I suppose this was a good call for us...at least for the time being. As you can tell, though, from all my rambling that I'm LONGING for a big garden!
And this little area is designated as Asheley's 'play plot'....every garden needs one of these....at least when there are little ones around who want nothing more than to be up to their elbows in that garden dirt! : D
And below...visions of our little garden from times past...fair to bursting at the seams. It still amazes me what a nicely tended tiny plot can do!
