Oh, blessed, blessed sunshine!! Can I tell you how much we've missed you, oh blessed sunshine...?? A solid week of nothing but overcast and rain has finally broken today and we have S-U-U-N-shine! Yippee!!
Rain clouds still hover ominously...shall I say threateningly?...over on the horizon...but we'll just ignore them for the time being! What'd ya say!
So we're going to relish the day by perhaps heading off to Camden. However, the rain HAS helped us in the 'let's get some cutesy things sewn' dept. I found this pattern last week before my parents got here and then we found some great fabric on sale for only $1-$2/ yd. so now we're in the process of cutting out prairie bonnets, poofy skirts, and pinafores! I've officially hi-jacked my mom and informed her that she is NOT leaving until all this fabric has been transformed into wearable items--that actually fit--and are actually finished (as opposed to the partially done projects filling heaps of boxes and drawers in various places too numerous to mention)!
Here are some sites I found for all sorts of motivation in old-fashioned fun and froo-froo...The King's Daughters has some sweetly simple dresses and pinafores....vegsource.com and curtdanhauser.com offer some very cute renditions of girl and doll matching outfits (make sure to scroll down).
I'll keep you posted on our progress...and hopefully I can remember how we did all this pattern stuff after my mom (with her plethora of sewing knowledge) is long gone and headed back for TX!
