Goodness! I have so many things I want to blog about that I've entered into some peculiar bizarre blog paralysis. But I'm coming out of my twilight zone, have uploaded the bazillion photos we had racked up on the camera, and will start with...oh yeah, pocahontas pony and more Thanksgiving themology (word?) recap about our extremely low-key, totally unstressed, blissfully relaxed Thanksgiving holiday. But before I say anymore, did ya'll have a wonderfully full-of-family-and-favorite-foods-with-fond-memories Thanksgiving Day...?? I do hope so!
No, we didn't have any company whatsoever...and no, we didn't go visiting anywhere....and no, I didn't hit the stores and malls on Friday....and no, I didn't do all my cooking and baking 3 days beforehand....and no, I didn't clean the kitchen until at least 24 hours after our Thanksgiving feast. However, I did bake an apple pie from scratch and we did have the most lethargically should-totally-feel-guilty-for-this relaxing Thanksgiving Days we've had in quite some time. And I think this will set the tone for my entire Holiday Season this year. I've made an official decision and I'm stickin' by it! So here's what we DID do:
!. The children ran their bunnies on leashes until the bunnies wore completely out and cried "uncle"...
2. Dressed Babycakes in Native American Thanksgiving garb...their version anyway...
Yes, even the tail!
"I'll do anything for apples."
3. Helped us prepare a heavenly apple pie from those fantastic apples we picked over at Avalon Orchard...
4. Played with homemade playdough (I made the uncooked, uncolored version) until a very late dinner was finally ready...
Chef Daddy took care of about everything else...our hero!
5. Set a perfectly elegant table (kid's table that is) replete with candle, china, white tablecloth and napkins...
And the grande finale...dessert! Ummm, Ummm! Apple pie with fresh whipped cream...yes, from scratch! You betcha!
Please indulge in a gloriously lazy, and at least partially homespun Holiday Season with me. Game? Good!
