I'm feeling ever so romantic at the moment...and it's not just me either! I always dreamed of having a winter wedding...which I did have...although there was no snow in TX so I missed that little attributing factor! Brunch at the Melrose Hotel and intimate reception in the courtyard of the Crescent made up for it! But I still love the idea of long gowns and snowy scenes with sleigh rides...or even without sleigh rides! And for more of these voluminous creations you must see Recollections...especially the photoshoot at the lighthouse! It's verily dripping with Victorian Romance!
My long time girlfriend, Lori, just informed me also that she received a little surprise this New Years Eve, too. It was none other than an engagement ring!!! So we now we have yet another thing to add to all our things in common list!
Then earlier in December we received an invitation by our dear friends, The Posts, to a reception celebrating their daughter's 'Elopement'...now I ask you, how much more romantic can you get than to elope...in the pristine white winter...during the Holidays...???!! That just tops the seriously romantic proverbial multi-tiered white frosting wedding cake!! At least in my book it does!! Wow!!
So here we are all dressed and ready to go to this very sweet, tip-the-scales seriously romantic reception in Newport. My husband and I were engaged on Christmas Eve and then got married one week later on New Year's Eve...so that's close to an elopement...but not quite the real deal. I just love all this matrimonial bliss! Can you tell?
We celebrated our anniversary by taking a side trip up to Sugar Loaf Mountain. We didn't make it in time to do any skiing, but it was a beautiful drive with a gorgeous sunset over the mountains...and I'll share the photos with you soon!
