We bid "so long!" to March...
Poor March, it's not always a month we relish too much in Maine. We're so tired of shoveling snow...and looking so eagerly to Spring's true appearance! But March does have it's pleasant moments, too! For those of us who love the snow laden woods and the last opportunities to enjoy a XC ski, a sled, or a quiet winter tromp through bare birches and over frozen ponds.
And at least at some point in March, we do feel the first kiss of Spring!
And Hello dear April!
We so look forward to what you bring us!
I discovered these wonderful illustrations by Kerstin Frykstrand, on the Julias vita drömmar site (Julia's White Dreams) and blog that you must visit! Her products and soft homey photos are Swedish simplicity at its best!
I wasn't able to find much on Kerstin Frykstrand...other than that she was a popular children's book illustrator...and wrote a comic strip with adorable little bears! She also illustrated a lovely music book for children that cropped up under a few searches...with most of her illustrations dating to around the 1930's and '40's.
They remind somewhat of a Swedish version of Dick and Jane...although I appreciate her country scenes much more so than D & J's suburban backdrop...but we'll keep D & J, too!
