Our neighbor gave us this gorgeous wreath that he made himself. Lovely, isn't it! The ice all melted...as well as all of our wonderful snow. And for two whole days we were brown and bare. But then...as if by some wistful miracle...we woke up to white....huge luscious flakes falling from the sky and wrapping us in this pristine blanket of white fluff...
BTW, speaking of white fluff...the Winters of Long Ago link that I put up previously was taken down...however, I did find it on YouTube! And this version has even more beautiful scenes by artist, Robert Duncan. So take another peek...it's positively nostalgically delightful!
(Hint for those of you not used to YouTube: press Fullscreen - little rectangle in the bottom right corner of the video for best effect!)
And the rapturous little Nordic children dressed in Nordic wear couldn't wait to go pounce, dance...and munch and crunch in their white world...
Well, all except this little Nordic one....she's not exactly dressed in Nordic wear...but she's sure munchin' and crunchin'...
Branches from our beautiful birches that had to come down due to the ice...the top of that tree was dragging on the ground. Not kidding!
So it was a perfect day to get our tree up that Daddy cut down fresh from some friend's land and proceed to decorate in earnest...and talk about spruce scent all through the house! Ummm...
Bring on the eggnog sprinkled with nutmeg...sticky peppermint sticks...and crunchy kettle corn....please! Oh! And there'll also be snow slushes...of course!
